Compensation: $58,000 - $60,000, Full-Time

Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Director, the Bar & Restaurant Manager oversees the daily operations of Benne’s Dessert Bar by Peninsula Grill to achieve guest satisfaction, quality service, and compliance with company policies while meeting or exceeding financial goals.

Job Duties

  • Preparing weekly work schedules for staff
  • Ensuring that all expenses are within budget/ forecast and identifying ways to decrease operational costs.
  • Receiving delivered supplies and verifying that the correct items and quantities have been delivered.
  • Taking inventory of supplies and ordering new stock as needed. Maintaining F&B waste
  • Resolving customer complaints regarding food & beverage quality and customer service.
  • Work with Peninsula Grill Chef to develop new menu items based on customers’ preferences and feedback.
  • Identifying promotional strategies to retain and attract new
  • Train and supervise
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment within the outlet.
  • Ensure the bar & café is always clean and well-presented
  • Shipping of all ordered cakes and maintaining guest satisfaction

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field preferred
  • Proven management experience in the hospitality industry
  • A food handler’s license
  • Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
  • Aloha experience helpful
  • Beverage safety certification

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Beverage – Cocktail skills
  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant/café practices and procedures
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office, Birchstreet (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple job priorities at same time
  • Exceptional customer & team member service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, walk and move about for extended periods, talk, hear, stand, sit, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move items up to 25 lbs.
