THE ROLE

Park Hyatt Chicago is seeking a polished, observant, and service‑driven Security Officer to join our esteemed team. In this essential role, you will uphold the safety, security, and privacy of our guests—including VIPs, dignitaries, and high-profile individuals—as well as our colleagues and hotel assets. Your presence will help maintain the calm, refined environment that defines the Park Hyatt experience.

You will conduct detailed patrols, respond swiftly to emergencies, monitor surveillance systems, and ensure compliance with safety and loss‑prevention protocols. Because this role supports every department, you will collaborate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Human Resources to ensure seamless operations and a unified approach to safety.

Exceptional communication—both written and verbal—is essential. You will prepare accurate incident reports, relay critical information to leadership, and interact with guests and colleagues with professionalism, discretion, and warmth. Your ability to remain composed, anticipate needs, and uphold Forbes‑rated service standards will be key in preserving the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

WAGE INFORMATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $26.75. This reflects the competitive compensation expected at Park Hyatt Chicago.  Actual pay will be commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

Requirements

• Security Experience: Minimum of 3 years in security within a luxury hospitality environment.

• Guest & Colleague Support: Demonstrated ability to assist both guests and internal teams with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.

• Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to document incidents clearly and relay information effectively across departments.

• Discretion & Confidentiality: Proven ability to manage sensitive information and interact with VIP and high-profile guests with absolute professionalism.

• Crisis Response: Ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive during emergencies or high-pressure situations.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control, incident reporting platforms, and emergency response protocols.

• Safety Standards: Knowledge of fire safety, first aid, and emergency evacuation procedures; CPR/AED certification preferred.

• Situational Awareness: Keen observational skills with the ability to identify risks, prevent incidents, and maintain a secure environment.

• Physical Capability: Ability to walk moderate distances, stand for long periods of time, and respond quickly throughout a shift.

• Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
