Job Description

Position Summary / Role Description:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Angelina’s Family of Restaurant is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the General Manager in the overall operation, performance, and success of our restaurant. The AGM ensures that daily operations run efficiently while delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining company standards.

This role serves as a bridge between hourly staff and senior leadership, providing hands-on supervision, coaching, and operational support. The AGM plays a critical role in driving financial performance, enforcing policies, developing team members, and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment. The AGM is expected to lead by example, demonstrate strong decision-making skills, and assume full operational responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be able to speak, read, and write fluent English.
  2. Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  4. Must have a minimum of 2–5 years of experience in the Food & Beverage or Hospitality industry, preferably in a supervisory role.
  5. Must have Italian fine dinning experience in supervisory role.
  6. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  7. Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide valid documentation.
  8. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  9. Must provide three professional references.
  10. Must have Manager’s version of Food Handlers card and RBS (Alcohol Beverage) certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager in executing the restaurant’s business plan, including evaluating local market conditions and competitor activity.
  • Assist in achieving financial goals by supporting budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and identifying opportunities to increase sales and operational efficiency.
  • Help manage purchasing and inventory processes, including monitoring usage, minimizing waste, and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Ensure daily operations comply with company policies, standard operating procedures, and service standards.
  • Promote guest satisfaction by monitoring food quality, service levels, and resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff.
  • Assist in coaching, counseling, and developing team members to meet performance expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment in accordance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Uphold and promote company culture, service philosophy, and brand standards.
  • Step in as acting manager in the absence of the General Manager.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in company systems and platforms such as Restaurant365, Aloha, Resy, Pulse, Toast, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Support company initiatives toward a paperless and technology-driven environment.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in daily operations through the use of technology.
  • Strong work ethics and high standard of professionalism.
  • Maintain brand standards for quality, consistency, and authenticity.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment between Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on leadership style by actively supporting staff during service.
  • Assist in overseeing bar operations, catering, and event execution as directed by the General Manager.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in hospitality or restaurant management.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel:

Some travel may be required.
