Line Cook- Fine Dining, Upscale Italian Restaurant

Job Summary:
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared efficiently and to the highest quality. Your role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen and delivering an exceptional fine dining experience to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation:
  • Prepare and cook items on the menu according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the restaurant's presentation standards.

Kitchen Operations:

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and cooking surfaces.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency.
  • Adjust seasoning and other ingredients to achieve the desired flavor and texture.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Follow all restaurant policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from superiors.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Must be available to work no less than 20 hours a week.
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires standing for extended periods and working in a hot and humid environment.
  • Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
  • Regular exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
