Job Description: Pastry Cook-Italian Fine Dining Restaurant

Position Summary

Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our Angelina’s Italian Fine Dining culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Pastry cook. This role requires a commitment to food safety and quality, that meets our Angelina’s restaurant standards. Pastry Cook will play a crucial role in our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our culinary offerings.

Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastry according to established recipes and standards
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team and Sous Chef to plan menus and create new creations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed for food production.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or guests regarding pastry selections.

Skills

  • Proficient in pastries and cake decoration techniques and preparation.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the culinary team.
  • Experience in event catering is a plus, enhancing the ability to meet diverse customer needs.
  • Experience in Italian restaurant kitchen is a plus. Experience as a Pastry cook is a plus

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of Pastry and kitchen experience in a full-service or fine dining environment
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Valid Food Handler Card / Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy kitchen environments

Work Environment

This role operates in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, sharp tools, and high activity levels. Strict adherence to safety and sanitation procedures is always required.
