Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will support multiple operational areas during the overnight shift, including Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security. Responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of public areas, such as the lobby, operating laundry services, performing routine property inspections, addressing basic maintenance needs, and conducting security rounds to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and the property.

Security:

  • Patrol property inside and the outside perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
  • Maintain order in the hotel to include dealing with guests or visitors that display undesirable conduct in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
  • Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards and threats to live.
  • Understand and train night shift on emergency preparedness plan.

Engineering:

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders for things like light bulbs, door locks, replacing tiles, plunging toilets, unclogging sinks, and other maintenance responsibilities.
  • Assist with checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems.
  • Assist with assembly and repair of furniture and other items.

Housekeeping:

  • Assists with stocking hotel supply closets with linens, amenities and guest supplies.
  • Assist room attendants with needed supplies for their carts.
  • Stripping rooms and taking soiled linen to laundry and trash to appropriate locations.
  • Clean and remove spots from walls and doors.
  • Cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, or mopping stairwells, vending areas and foyers.
  • Performs any other job related duties as assigned.

Set-up:

  • May help Food & Beverage team with set-up or delivery of food, coffee, and other items.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Hotel Security, Housekeeping or Engineering.
  • Must be able to obtain Unarmed AZ Department of Public Safety Security guard certification.
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and AED certification
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handler & TIPS certifications
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to de-escalate conflict and handle difficult people
  • Computer and keyboarding skills and familiarity with MS Outlook and Word
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Integrity – must be able to act within ethical and legal boundaries, avoiding misuse of authority.
