Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes and complete meals according to the chef's instructions
- Prepare meals adapted to guests' allergies and dietary restrictions
- Complete mise en place and stock workstations
- Take part in food production for the restaurant and for high-volume banquets
- Ensure the quality, speed and coordination of dishes during service
- Organize and supervise buffets, as needed
- Supervise kitchen helpers and kitchen operations, and prepare work schedules
- Maintain inventory of food, supplies and equipment
- As needed, plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements and costs, and order necessary supplies
- As needed, take part in hiring and training kitchen staff
- Keep the kitchen and work areas clean and organized in accordance with health and safety standards
- Perform any other related duties
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a cook in a Marriott hotel
- Availability 7 days a week, for shifts starting as early as 5:30 a.m. and ending as late as 11:00 p.m.
Desired profile
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment, with fast execution and stress tolerance
- Comfortable working as part of a team as well as independently
- Supervisory experience, an asset
- Energetic and versatile
- Strong command of culinary techniques and kitchen terminology
- Initiative and pride in a job well done
