Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee daily spa operations, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Maintain La Fonda luxury service standards and personalized guest experience
  • Ensure treatment rooms, locker areas, and public spaces are clean and well maintained
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Monitor online reviews and guest feedback related to spa services
  • Coordinate with Front Desk, Concierge, and Reservations to promote spa services

Team Leadership

  • Hire, train, coach, and supervise spa therapists and attendants
  • Oversee and support the part-time Spa Receptionist, including scheduling and training
  • Create staff schedules based on occupancy and demand
  • Conduct performance reviews and ongoing coaching
  • Ensure proper licensing and certifications for all spa staff
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment

Revenue & Financial Management

  • Drive spa revenue through treatment, package, and retail sales
  • Monitor daily revenue, payroll, and expenses
  • Develop promotions tied to hotel occupancy and seasonal demand
  • Work with Sales & Marketing on spa packages and group offerings
  • Manage inventory and retail merchandising
  • Ensure proper pricing and service mix optimization

Inventory & Ordering

  • Order spa supplies, linens, and retail products
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for treatments and retail
  • Monitor product usage and control costs
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliation

Administrative & Systems

  • Manage spa scheduling system (Book4Time or applicable system)
  • Track productivity, utilization, and labor costs
  • Maintain vendor relationships and order supplies
  • Ensure proper cash handling and financial controls
  • Prepare monthly spa performance reports

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain OSHA and safety standards
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and operational

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years Spa Management experience preferred
  • Luxury hotel or resort spa experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience with spa scheduling systems (Book4Time preferred)
  • Knowledge of spa treatments, products, and retail sales
  • Strong financial and revenue management skills
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
