We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic afternoon Barista to join our team at Library Rules, the coffee shop at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU. As a Barista, you will create memorable experiences for our guests by preparing high-quality coffee and beverages with exceptional customer service. Our ideal candidate is reliable, has a passion for coffee, and thrives in a guest-oriented environment.

This role will serve as 2nd shift barista and also be responsible for making coffee drinks including alcohol for our PM offerings.

• Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages in accordance with our recipes and standards.
• Operate coffee brewing equipment and maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and answering any questions about the menu.
• Manage cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment, including restocking supplies and ensuring sanitation standards.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Support the team in all areas of the coffee shop to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous barista or coffee-making experience preferred but not required.

• Bartending experience is preferred.

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.

• Dependable and punctual, especially for early morning shifts.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic math skills for cash handling.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to work weekday and weekend afternoon / early evening shifts.

*This position is a part-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
