Grand Casino Mille Lacs/HinckleyFinancial Analyst

DEPARTMENT:  Finance              REPORTS TO: CEO Grand Casinos  

Create Insight. Advance Performance. Support Strategic Decision-Making.The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and strategic decision-making across Grand Casinos. This role partners closely with leaders to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and risks, evaluate opportunities, and provide clear, actionable insight that improves performance, optimizes resources, and supports long-term growth.As a Financial Analyst, you will contribute meaningful analysis that informs budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

What You’ll DoFinancial Analysis + Insight

  •     Analyze and interpret financial and operational data, including budgets, forecasts, income statements, and other financial reports.
  •     Track actual results against forecasts and investigate variances, trends, and anomalies.
  •     Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  •     Identify risks and opportunities and provide recommendations grounded in sound, fact-based analysis.
  •     Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight for leaders and stakeholders.

    Budgeting + Forecasting

  •     Support preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
  •     Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and benchmarking.
  •     Analyze capital expenditure requests to support long-term growth and effective capital allocation.
  •     Provide ongoing financial monitoring and analysis to support achievement of annual financial plans.

    Reporting + Decision Support

  •     Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports and presentations for business leaders, executives, shareholders, and boards.
  •     Assemble and summarize financial information into clear, concise reporting materials.
  •     Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and analysis.
  •     Deliver persuasive, data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.

    Strategic + Business Partnership

  •     Partner with leaders across departments to evaluate business performance and recommend improvements.
  •     Support strategic initiatives, new business development, and acquisition efforts through financial analysis and business case development.
  •     Break down business performance by department, project, or initiative to provide meaningful insight.
  •     Serve as a trusted financial advisor to leaders across the organization.

    Process Improvement + Tools

  •     Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and analytical tools.
  •     Develop dashboards and tools that enhance understanding of business performance and key metrics.
  •     Support development of productivity improvement models and best-practice comparisons.
  •     Stay informed on industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices relevant to organizational operations.
  •     Learn and effectively use financial systems and software applications utilized across departments.

    Collaboration + Leadership Support

  •     Coordinate and prioritize analytical work to support organizational goals.
  •     Review financial analysis for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  •     Provide guidance, technical support, or mentorship to analysts or business partners as appropriate.
  •     Collaborate across Finance and other departments to support enterprise objectives.

    What You Bring

  •     Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  •     4–6+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance roles.
  •     Strong financial modeling skills, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
  •     Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems and reporting tools.
  •     Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  •     Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
  •     Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work.
  •     High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and sound professional judgment.
  •     Must obtain and maintain a Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA) license.
  •     Must follow all applicable Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
  •     Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

    Work Environment

  •     Hybrid schedule that is based at both Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley.

    Grand Casino Mille Lacs is located in Onamia, Minnesota. The casino features more than 1,800 slot machines, poker and blackjack, pull tabs and bingo, three restaurants, large convention facilities and a 494-room hotel. The casino currently employs more than 1,200 area residents.

    Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley are the most visible of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures business portfolio and an important part of our rapidly diversifying portfolio.
