The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring an experienced Retail Manager to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon Village, Arizona. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the successful and profitable retail operations at Grand Canyon National Park. The Retail Manager oversees multi-unit retail and grocery operations, ensuring profitable performance, operational excellence, and exceptional guest experience. This role leads stores, warehouse, and inventory functions; executes merchandising and retail strategies; develops teams; and ensures compliance with company standards, environmental initiatives, and all regulatory requirements.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $68,300 – $92,200 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?

  • Oversee daily operations for multiple retail stores, grocery, and warehouse functions.

  • Execute and optimize retail strategies by partnering with Corporate Retail Support, the Merchandise Manager, and the Directors of Merchandise, Visual Merchandising, and Operations to deliver business results.

  • Maintain seasonal floor plans, visual merchandising standards, and strong merchandise presentation.

  • Drive sales, profitability, and guest experience through inventory accuracy, staffing, training, and store standards.

  • Manage inventory flow, spoilage, pricing execution, and physical inventory processes.

  • Analyze sales and financial results; support daily, monthly, and retail reporting and budget control.

  • Lead, coach, and develop retail managers, supervisors, and associates; ensure adequate staffing and scheduling.

  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

  • Support customer service, environmental initiatives, and safety programs.

  • Collaborate with on-site leadership and maintain strong partnerships with corporate teams and external stakeholders, including the National Park Service.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employment, payroll, sanitation, alcohol, and EEO.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to drive company vehicles throughout property.

More about you

  • 4–6+ years of retail operations experience, including multi-unit leadership.

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience.

  • High-volume retail experience; grocery experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
