Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and outgoing individual to join the Northwood Hospitality team as a Sales Coordinator. This position will support the efforts of the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Sales and Catering Team.

Job Duties

  • Answering calls, qualifying and selling our hotel's facilities and services to inquiries and sales leads
  • Generating proposals and agreements for group and meeting room events
  • Answer phones and greet visitors
  • Collate and distribute mail
  • Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
  • Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents
  • On occasion conducting hotel tours and site inspections for prospective clients
  • Ensures that he/she adheres to all sales administrative processes that are in place including preparation and submission of reports or internal communications and meets deadlines.
  • Builds strong relationships and loyalty all clients/groups and maintains professional integrity.
  • Coordinate and distribute lead opportunities coming into Delphi System.
  • Process Commission for groups that have departed.
  • Act as Birch Street coordinator and supply orders – for the sales dept.
  • Assist with reservation overflow calls.
  • Coordinate all in-house meetings.

Education and Experience

  • High school education or equivalent 
  • One to two years in a similar public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel. 

Skills and Abilities

  • Hotel experience is preferred, but not required
  • Previous front desk, reservations or sales office experience is a plus
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced working environment
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with computers including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to learn to use new computer systems and programs 

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 50 pounds); talk and hear.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
  • Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
