Full-Time, Exempt Reports To: President / COO Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 annual

Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading the financial strategy, reporting, and overall fiscal management of Tandem Hospitality Group across a growing portfolio of hotel properties. This role serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with operations, ownership, and corporate leadership to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

The VP of Finance oversees all aspects of accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management, while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. This position plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining scalable financial systems, strengthening internal controls, and supporting both corporate and property-level operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate brings strong hospitality finance experience, the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-property environment, and a proven track record of translating financial data into actionable insights that improve business performance and support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with company goals
  • Provide financial modeling, forecasting, and decision support for strategic initiatives and investments
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely financial statements and reporting
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across the portfolio
  • Analyze financial performance and deliver actionable insights to improve profitability
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes
  • Lead external audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Oversee cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity planning
  • Monitor financial risk and optimize working capital and capital allocation
  • Partner with General Managers and Regional Directors to drive property-level financial performance
  • Provide guidance on labor management, cost control, and operational efficiency
  • Support hotel openings, transitions, and ongoing operational improvements
  • Establish accountability and financial discipline across properties
  • Serve as primary financial liaison to ownership and investors, providing clear performance insights and reporting
  • Drive process improvements and standardization across financial systems, reporting, and workflows
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering accountability and cross-functional collaboration
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
  • Experience supporting multi-unit, multi-entity, or hospitality operations strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to partner with operations leaders and influence decision-making

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • This role is primarily office-based but may require travel to properties and participation in on-site operational reviews.

The position may involve:

  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer
  • Occasional travel to hotel properties
  • Participation in property tours, meetings, and operational walkthroughs

Schedule Requirements

  • Flexible schedule required to meet business needs
  • Availability for occasional travel and off-hours support as needed

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $140,000-160,000 annually
