What You Will Be Doing
The Barback supports bartenders in delivering exceptional beverage service to guests in a fast-paced, full-service hotel environment. This role is responsible for maintaining bar cleanliness, stocking supplies, assisting with guest areas, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Barback also performs bussing and cleaning duties to uphold brand standards and enhance the overall guest experience.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:Bar Support:
- Stock bar with liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies before, during, and after service
- Replenish ice bins, change kegs, and restock refrigerators
- Assist bartenders with drink preparation as needed
- Ensure all bar tools and equipment are clean and organized
Bussing & Guest Area Maintenance:
- Clear and reset tables, bar tops, and lounge areas promptly
- Remove used glassware, plates, and trash from guest areas (pre-bus)
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of bar seating and surrounding spaces
- Assist servers and bartenders in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Wash and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of bar floors, mats, drains, and storage areas
- Clean dishwasher, floors, seating area, etc
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly
Operational Support:
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages
- Follow hotel policies and brand standards for service and appearance
- Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and management
Qualifications:
- Previous barback, bussing, or restaurant experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Strong hospitality disposition
- Ability to lift heavy items (kegs, cases of beverages, etc.)
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Bending, reaching, and carrying items throughout shift
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced hotel bar or lounge setting
- Exposure to noise, crowds, and varying temperatures
Schedule
The schedule is not a Monday-Friday position. Nights and weekends are required. Shifts are usually 4:30p-12:30a or 5p-1:30p. We are looking for 2 shifts per week.
