Position Summary:
Responsible for customer service, operating, and fiscal management of the Isleta Resort and Casino’s Facilities, Engineering & Development, Environmental Services Operations, and Grounds Maintenance. Provides leadership and coordination in the day to day department administration and processes. Exercises managerial responsibility for all department internal controls and regulatory requirements. Ensure department is properly staffed and motivated to perform the organizational goals and objectives. All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino guests.
Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement
All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. Departmental Leadership:
• Serves as project director, assuring all Tribal, Federal, and State regulatory compliance, timely completion of tasks, and satisfactory sub-contractor performance of any construction or remodeling projects
• Plans, coordinates, and directs ground maintenance, parking lot and walkway maintenance, and the Isleta Resort and Casino beautification
• Prepares plans, material lists, and estimates for renovation and construction projects
• Creates, implements, and maintains department repair and capital improvement budgets; ensures compliance with budgetary constraints; and forecasts and plans facility improvements
• Produces and manages the department operating, capital, and project budgets (as assigned) in order to meet or favorably exceed approved budgeted expectations
• Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Isleta Resort and Casino fire alarm systems and fire protection systems
• Responsible for maintaining and updating as needed a comprehensive safety plan, a process for facilities opening and lock-down, and an emergency notification procedure
• Analyzes department revenues and expenses in order to implement processes which will increase customer service, set expense controls, and cash management in a manner which will produce maximum profit. Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals in accordance with organizational vision and strategy
• Directs and ensure proper maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and building systems. Coordinates and orders contracted services as needed to accomplish repairs of such.
• Using expert knowledge and manufacturers’ recommendations, establishes and maintains preventative maintenance program for building, tools, and equipment
• Establishes a presence, either personally or assigned to subordinate, as a member of the Isleta Resort and Casino safety committee; stays alert to all Isleta Resort and Casino safety hazards to be corrected in a timely manner
• Acts as liaison with Tribal, Federal, State, City, and regulatory bodies as it relates to fire, guest safety, and occupational safety
• Ensures proper control and maintenance of grounds and facilities supplies and asset inventory and accounting in order to protect the company’s assets
• Establishes an efficient system of Isleta Resort and Casino work orders to ensure the quick resolution of maintenance and repair issues
• Ensures compliance and staff training in all applicable building and safety codes, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, hazardous materials, and similar guidelines and procedures
• Monitors Isleta Resort and Casino emergencies, including equipment breakdowns, malfunctions and alarm calls
• Acts as a liaison with sub-contractors that are completing projects within the property and assists them in building schematics/layouts/blueprints
Personnel & Administrative Tasks:
• In accordance with organizational mission, sets and enforces the department standards, objectives, and policy
• Maintains a skilled, trained, and motivated staff by providing continuous communication, feedback, and effective customer service training
• Continuously assesses and develops strategic business and operational plans for department maximum efficiency and best practices
• Sets and enforces sufficient department internal controls which will prevent fraud, loss, theft, and employee and customer injury
• Maintains updated SOPs and ensure compliance with tribal, state, and federal regulatory requirements
• Produces and manages the department operating, capital, and project budgets (as assigned) in order to meet or favorably exceed approved budgeted expectations
• Interacts productively with Executive Management, Directors, and Managers in order to work as a management team, provide feedback, exchange ideas, and further the organizational mission, vision, goals, and objectives
• Ensures company and department records, documents, and electronic data is stored securely and confidentially and in accordance with current policy
• May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift
Accountability and Supervision:
• Directly supervises employees in the Facilities, HVAC, Custodial, and Grounds Departments
• Administers supervisory employment actions and responsibilities in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining of employees; promoting, demoting, and reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Issue performance evaluations & participate in employee recognition
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or GED required.
• A minimum of nine (9) years’ experience in the management of a facility of similar size and complexity
• Must possess and maintain a valid trade license relevant to the Facilities operation (examples: MM98, EE98, JP, JR, GB02) or any other trade license as required by state and local regulations
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Casino experience preferred
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
• Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation
• Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any day/hours as needed or required to meet business needs
• Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must have a valid driver’s license (License should not have been revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, driving records will be checked)
• Must have thorough knowledge and expertise in Federal, State, and Tribal regulatory requirements and authoritative published material as related to department
• Knowledge of all phases of physical plant operation, maintenance and repair, planning, scheduling, management and administration of the plant; federal, state, and local regulation safety practices.
• Technical knowledge and skills in working with air conditioning and heating systems
• Knowledge and experience with state and local safety, fire, construction, and public access regulations experience; and understanding of blueprints and building codes; experience in developing cost estimates and budgets
• Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives
• Must show utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization in dealing with confidential information and data
• Must have internal control knowledge as it relates to the department
• Must have excellent planning skills and proactively guide executive management to higher levels of efficiency and profitability
• Must demonstrate a well-developed interpersonal and communication skill, exhibit leadership characteristics of motivation, confidence, intelligence and teamwork
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds intermittently
• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
Working Conditions:
• Exposure to various lights and sounds. May, on occasion be required to work outdoors. Occasionally may deal with angry or hostile individuals. Must be on call at all times. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, special events, and different shifts. May be exposed to second-hand smoke
