Groundskeeper

AGE REQUIREMENT: 18 years or older

Position Summary:

Performs routine indoor and outdoor maintenance and cleaning assignments to ensure the Isleta Travel Center and/or Isleta One Stop are well-kept in a safe and sanitary manner.

Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. 1. Performs daily assignments that include janitorial and grounds maintenance duties related to the upkeep of the Convenience Store.
2. Maintains C-Store parking lot and gas pump areas through snow and ice removal, cleaning of minor oil or gas spills, re-stocking supplies, and trash pickup.
3. Waters planted vegetation on grounds on a regular basis, and performs weed eradication.
4. Performs minor repair work as directed and reports major repairs to the Store Manager.
5. Drives company vehicles for trash disposal and other tasks.
6. Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment, and reports safety and security concerns to the Store Manager.
7. Ensures that all maintenance and groundskeeping equipment, hand tools, power tools, and supplies are maintained, repaired, and stored securely to prevent loss, theft, or environmental damage.
8. Operates a power washer to clean perimeter of fuel pumps.
9. Uses a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
10. Observes safety rules and ensures and maintains a safe and clean environment.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of the methods and practices used in preventative maintenance and repair work.
2. Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
3. Knowledge of groundskeeping landscaping, maintenance, and repairs.
4. Ability to safely operate tools, power tools, and groundskeeping equipment.
5. Ability to collaborate and maintain professionalism while working alongside colleagues, both autonomously and within a team dynamic.
6. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
7. Ability to prepare and maintain work orders.
8. Ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks within strict deadlines.
9. Ability to respond and remain calm in emergency situations.

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma/GED required.
2. Six (6) months of relevant work experience preferred.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification:

1. Must acquire and maintain a Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
2. Pass pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
3. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of employment. Application acceptability will be determined by Human Resources. Driving records will be checked.
4. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
5. Flexible work schedule, willingness to work any days/hours as needed.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

1. Standing and walking for potentially up to 8 hours daily.
2. Stooping, bending; kneeling, climbing; using hands to handle objects, equipment, controls and reach with arms and hands; carry equipment and supplies.
3. Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

1. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.
2. Exposure to natural weather conditions and various dust and mist may occur while performing outdoor duties.
3. Safety toed shoes, goggles, gloves, protective gear, or hardhats may be needed.
4. Exposure to gas fumes, automobile fluids, and cleaning agents.
5. High noise level.
