The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a full-time Senior Maintenance Worker to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As a Senior Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for handling all general maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance. What will you do?

  • Perform preventive maintenance on water softeners and manage salt inventory to ensure proper operation in assigned areas
  • Handle work orders and call-outs independently while coordinating additional trade support as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to job requirements and direction
  • Complete advanced maintenance and repair tasks aligned with preventive maintenance programs
  • Carry out carpentry, painting, and general facility upkeep to maintain property condition
  • Report maintenance issues accurately to ensure timely resolution by appropriately skilled trades
  • Follow safety, risk management, and environmental standards while supporting the training and development of maintenance team members
  • Valid drivers license required 

More about you

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general building maintenance or in trades such as electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing
  • Advanced knowledge of general building maintenance, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair
  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle in inclement weather
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Physical requirements

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment needed to carry out assigned tasks safely.
  • Ability to enter into and work in confined and crawlspaces.
  • Will climb and descend ladders repeatedly while supporting tools and equipment. 
  • Walking, bending, squatting, reaching, pulling with ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity in the use of hands to grasp and safely operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, sun, wind, rain and snow.
