Maintenance/ Engineer

The Hotel Engineer/Maintenance technician ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent working conditions. This position responds promptly to maintenance requests and supports the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Diagnose and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.
• Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including:

Carpentry

Plumbing

Electrical work

Painting

HVAC maintenance

Masonry

• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance. 
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and report items requiring further attention.
• Maintain and update the Guest Room Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including the location of all emergency shut-offs.
• Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees must be flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.

• Available to work shifts of 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with guests and team members
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Flexible availability
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to operate heavy machinery
• Licenses and certifications are a plus

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

• Education: Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education, apprenticeship, in-plant training, or on-the-job training required. 
• Experience: Previous hotel engineering experience a plus
