About Us:

Magna Hospitality Group is a privately held and vertically integrated hotel management company. Our professionals specialize in every discipline, including investment, finance, legal, hotel operations, sales and marketing, hotel accounting, human resources, engineering, interior design, and construction.

Our TEAM’s culture is expressed through T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More. T.E.A.M. encourages individuals to succeed as part of a team and be less concerned with themselves as individuals. About the Role:

The Development Associate is a crucial role on our Development team, supporting both the analysis of existing hotel assets and the pursuit of new investment and management opportunities. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer and senior executives, this role evaluates operating performance, builds financial pro-formas and valuations, and prepares the research and pitch decks that drive new deals. It blends rigorous financial analysis with hands-on business development—due diligence, underwriting, and M&A evaluation—with potential to grow into a deal-originating "Seller" role.

**This position will require you to be in our corporate offices daily in Warwick, RI**

Responsibilities:

Operations Analysis

  • Review and analyse the monthly operating performance of hotel assets
  • Prepare materials for monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings with senior company executives
  • Prepare financial projections, valuations and ROI analyses
  • Conduct benchmarking analyses against other hotels within the portfolio to help identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare market research and supply analysis studies

Business Development

  • Evaluate hotel investment and management opportunities through the creation of financial pro-forma projections, assessing capital requirements and analysing the returns, including sensitivity analyses
  • Develop key underwriting business plan initiatives to create value and meet performance parameters
  • Prepare presentations, case studies and pitch decks for new management and investment deals to be presented to owners and investors
  • Research markets and synthesize data to analyse investments
  • Assist in due diligence for transition to Magna management
  • Evaluate and underwrite potential M&A transactions
  • Participate in deal origination and sourcing of new owner relationships
  • This role has the potential to grow into a deal originator “Seller” role

Other

  • The Development Associate will also be responsible for aiding in the training and growth of the Development Analyst team

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required.  A focus in hospitality or real estate investment is preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar role with a hospitality or real estate investment firm
  • Knowledge of hospitality operations and revenue management is a plus
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills are a must to interact with groups internally and externally, including senior executives
  • Ability to multi-task various projects to hard deadlines, including prioritizing and time-managing recurring duties and ad hoc tasks as they arise
