BASIC FUNCTION: The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the proper and smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will monitor all aspects of employee activity to ensure the highest quality in cleanliness and service.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Minimum two years college preferred.
Three years housekeeping experience in a management role required.
Ability to handle high stress situations.
Excellent communication skills.
Detail oriented and good organizational skills.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to work in the Casino in a non-sensitive area.
Employment contingent upon favorable background investigation and drug screening.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists with interviewing and hiring of all housekeeping staff.
2. Assists Housekeeping Manager with proper, adequate training and re-training of all housekeeping staff.
3. Identifies employees for possible promotions.
4. As situations dictate, disciplines employees with intent to improve performance, attitude and appearance. Gives Commendations as warranted.
5. Assists with department purchasing, maintaining consistent availability of all cleaning products, machinery, amenities, etc.
6. Administers “Quality Assurance Program”.
7. As necessary, establishes new standards to provide the guests the highest quality of service.
8. Through close communication with Housekeeping manager, recommends areas in need of improvement.
9. Assists with weekly/monthly inventories, with timely reporting to Accounting.
10. Through proper scheduling, keeps payroll costs within budgeted guidelines.
11. Ensures that other expenses are kept within budgeted guidelines, through monitoring of staff handling and usage of supplies and equipment.
12. Attends all scheduled meetings, i.e. Rooms Division, Department Head, Safety, etc.
13. Reports in either written or verbal form all information to the Housekeeping Manager.
14. Responsible for proper quality control and daily monitoring of staff.
15. Ensures standards of cleanliness are met in all areas of responsibility.
16. Performs timely and fair performance appraisals of all staff.
17. Performs duties as reasonably requested by Management.
