The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a Security Guard, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. Shift: Monday, 7:45 PM – 4:15 AM, Saturday, 3:45 PM – 12:00 AM & Sunday, 7:45 PM – 4:15 AM.

Pay

$21.25 – $21.25 / hour

What will you do?

  • Enforce gaming rules and regulations of the NYC Gaming Commission.
  • Patrol the facilities, pedestrian and mobile patrol; provide security for special functions.
  • Drive a motorized vehicle when needed
  • Enforce all department, unit and company policies and procedures, including alcohol service protocols.
  • Observe and report incidents, procedural violations and illegal activity.
  • Fill out departmental log forms, verify all paperwork is complete and turned in at end of shift.
  • Assist with fires, wind storms, floods, blizzards, evacuations, and other emergencies as directed. 

More about you

  • Must possess a New York state Security Guard license
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to control difficult situations and maintain customer goodwill.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and special events.

Physical requirements

  • Requires the ability to see, hear, walk, run, sit, squat, bend, reach and grasp objects throughout the shift in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
