Location: We are currently seeking a Catering Sales Coordinator for the San Diego Convention Center! 

Unit Description:

The San Diego Convention Center is located on sparkling San Diego Bay in the heart of a vibrant downtown. Abundant, flexible space and five-star service make the San Diego Convention Center the meeting planner's choice for hosting major conventions, trade shows, meetings and special events.  

Job Overview:

The Catering Sales Coordinator supports the Catering Sales Managers and Director of Catering Sales in coordinating and executing catered events while ensuring exceptional client service and administrative excellence. This position works closely with clients, operations teams, culinary staff, and venue partners to facilitate seamless event planning and execution.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute administrative processes to support efficient catering operations. 

• Serve as a liaison between clients, vendors, venue personnel, culinary teams, and operations staff. 

• Provide administrative support to the Catering Sales Manager and Director of Catering Sales. 

• Respond to catering inquiries and ensure timely follow-up with prospective and existing clients. 

• Assist with small catering bookings and support the sales process for larger events. 

• Prepare contracts, event orders, correspondence, and other event-related documentation. 

• Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and event information within department databases. 

• Communicate event details to internal departments and assist with distributing banquet event orders and function sheets. 

• Coordinate event requirements, including rentals, equipment, and other event resources as needed. 

• Support site visits, client meetings, and event planning activities. 

• Uphold Sodexo Live!'s standards for customer service, accuracy, efficiency, and quality. 

• Assist with on-site event execution as required to ensure client expectations are met. 

• Maintain positive client relationships and provide exceptional customer service throughout the event lifecycle.

Qualifications/Skills: 

• Minimum two (2) years of administrative, hospitality, catering, or event coordination experience preferred. 

• Food & Beverage, hospitality, hotel, convention center, or event venue experience strongly preferred. 

• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment. 

• Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization. 

• Experience supporting event planning, catering operations, or sales activities is an asset. 

• Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
