Aerobic Instructor

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is seeking a certified Pilates Reformer and Mat Instructor to lead safe, engaging, and effective group and private sessions. This position will teach at least four classes per week utilizing both Pilates floor mat exercises and spring-resistance Reformer equipment.

The ideal candidate will provide precise instruction, adapt exercises for different fitness levels, and create a welcoming experience consistent with the exceptional service standards of Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead structured group and private Pilates Mat and Reformer sessions focused on core strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and proper alignment.
• Demonstrate exercises using correct form and clearly explain movements and anatomical positioning.
• Modify exercises and routines to accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced participants, as well as individuals with physical limitations or injuries.
• Use appropriate props, equipment settings, and spring adjustments based on each participant’s needs and abilities.
• Closely monitor participant technique to promote safety and prevent injury.
• Build positive relationships with members and provide an encouraging, professional, and service-focused class environment.
• Answer member questions regarding Pilates techniques, fitness goals, and class schedules.
• Track class attendance and complete any required administrative responsibilities.
• Inspect Pilates equipment before and after each session and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized studio by sanitizing Reformer carriages, straps, props, and other equipment after use.
• Follow all Club policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold current Pilates Mat and Reformer certifications from a nationally recognized organization, such as Balanced Body, STOTT Pilates, Peak Pilates, or an equivalent program.
• Comprehensive Pilates certification consisting of 450 or more training hours is preferred.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required.
• Minimum of one year of Pilates teaching or coaching experience required; two or more years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Pilates principles, anatomy, body mechanics, and safe exercise modifications.
• Excellent communication, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to provide exceptional service within a private-club environment.
• Must be available to teach at least four Pilates Mat and Reformer classes per week.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, kneel, and demonstrate Pilates movements throughout each session.
• Must be able to safely adjust and operate Pilates Reformer equipment.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and arrange fitness equipment and props as required.
• Must possess the physical stamina and mobility necessary to lead classes safely and effectively.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time position requiring availability to teach at least four classes per week. Class times will be based on the Club’s fitness schedule and member needs and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
