The Overnight Security Rover is responsible for conducting continuous patrols across several SAFECO properties with active overnight security operations. This position ensures the safety and security of buildings, assets, and individuals by maintaining visibility, monitoring irregularities, and responding promptly to incidents. The rover operates independently, traveling between assigned sites and supporting on‑site officers as needed. Key Responsibilities
- Roving Patrols — Perform scheduled and unscheduled patrols of interior and exterior areas across multiple properties, ensuring comprehensive coverage during overnight hours.
- Access Control — Verify authorized entry and exit, secure doors/gates, and ensure all access points remain properly locked and monitored.
- Incident Response — Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and emergencies; coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
- Observation & Reporting — Document incidents, daily activity, and property conditions through accurate Vision Insite observation submissions.
- Safety System Monitoring — Monitor intrusion detection systems, fire panels, and building alarms; escalate issues according to SAFECO protocols.
- Support for On‑Site Officers — Provide backup coverage, assist with high‑priority situations, and ensure continuity of operations across all assigned properties.
- Policy Compliance — Adhere strictly to SAFECO security standards, post orders, and legal requirements for private security operations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CA BSIS Guard Card
- Minimum age: 21
- Ability to pass background check
- Ability to pass DMV screening
- Strong written communication skills for report writing
- Strong hospitality skills
- Reliable transportation for multi‑property patrols
- Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Professional judgment and strong situational awareness
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in overnight security or multi‑site patrol operations
- Prior work in hospitality, commercial buildings, or residential communities
- Radio communication proficiency
- De‑escalation and conflict‑management training
Work Environment
- Overnight shifts (typically 10 PM – 6 AM)
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, low‑light environments, and extended patrol routes
- Independent role with periodic check‑ins and coordinated responses
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $21–$23 per hour, depending on experience
