JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

This varied and busy role will involve routine and reactive repair as well as general maintenance of the building and its assets. As part of the Engineering department, you will assist the team that looks after our customers both internal and externally. Qualification in HVAC and Refrigeration trade.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Carry out assigned tasks, including physical duties such as; lifting and transporting furniture and other equipment, climbing ladders, working in enclosed areas and pushing trolleys.
  • Repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, kitchen and heating systems and associated equipment within the hotel in close co-ordination with the engineering leadership team.
  • Service/ repair and maintain AHU and FCU/Split system.
  • Service/ repair and maintain fridges, freezers and ice machines.
  • Work from the daily hand over reports which have been assigned by your manager and provide feedback when the work is completed.
  • Check and maintain the efficiency of the hotel’s systems, plant and equipment.
  • Inform your manager about equipment deficiencies, relevant stock control and spare parts as necessary.
  • Comply with all systems, procedures and company policies.
  • Be pro-active in developing your individual skills.
  • Be self-motivated and perform to the highest level.
  • Ensure you regularly attend communication meetings held within the department.
  • Ensure planned training is completed.
  • Ensure communication between Engineering and all other areas of the hotel is professional, efficient and thorough.
  • Respond to and manage departmental change as required by the hotel, Hilton, government legislation or industry trends.
  • Ensuring your grooming are in line with hotel policy.

  • Assist with sustainability programs and drive projects to meet Hilton’s objectives.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer/ Chief Engineer / General Manager.
  • Co-ordinate and assist all external contractors as necessary.
  • Keep the workshop clean and tidy.
  • Perform call out and other duties which may be assigned to you.
  • Flexible rostering as the business requires on rotating shifts.
  • Respond directly to guest maintenance requests.
  • Always have the guest and their comfort in mind in relations to your role and impact as Service Technician.
  • Be respectful of our guest’s privacy ensuring their every request in this regard is strictly adhered to and their details remain confidential.Adhere to departmental operating expenses as laid out by your manager.
