Water Obstacle Course Supervisor – Splash Safari

Role Overview: The Water Obstacle Course Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of our premier "Splash Safari" in-lake adventure. Your primary goal is to ensure 5-star guest satisfaction by developing a highly motivated team and maintaining an active presence on the dock. You will oversee Attendants and Lifeguards, ensuring prompt, courteous, and safe service while driving sales and operational efficiency.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operational Leadership: Assume full responsibility for the daily operations of the Splash Safari. Open and close shifts consistently using established manager checklists.
  • On-Site Supervision: Maintain a constant presence in the dock area to monitor guest safety, associate performance, and overall flow of play.
  • Staff Management & Development: Direct, coach, and train a team of Attendants and Lifeguards. Handle daily associate relations, including scheduling, time adjustments, and station rotations to ensure fairness and efficiency.
  • Guest Relations: Initiate aggressive guest interaction by seeking feedback and ensuring complete satisfaction. Personally resolve guest challenges and last-minute booking adjustments.
  • Revenue & Resource Control: Execute revenue and check control procedures accurately. Assist in implementing marketing plans to drive sales and work toward positive financial results within budget guidelines.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Ensure a safe, sanitary, and environmentally responsible work environment. Manage equipment maintenance and repairs through the HotSos work order system and daily inspections.
  • Problem Solving: Find immediate solutions for daily operational hurdles, such as staff call-outs or unexpected high-occupancy shifts.

Employment Standards:

  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills; ability to disseminate information accurately to the public and staff.
  • Experience: Basic technical knowledge of obstacle course operations and a strong background in hospitality.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a superlative professional image, adhering to resort grooming and uniform standards (including slip-resistant, enclosed-toe/heel footwear).
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business demands change in a 24/7 resort environment.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Stamina: Ability to be on foot and walk for up to 8 hours per day in an outdoor lakeside environment.
  • Strength: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to comprehend reading materials, follow safety protocols, and utilize reporting tools.
  • Aptitude: Strong problem-solving abilities and a "TEAM" first mentality.
