Public Area Attendant / Facility Attendant

Job Overview:

The Public Area Attendant / Facility Attendant at Encore Hospitality is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and functionality of the hotel's public areas and facilities. This role involves performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring that common areas are welcoming and well-maintained for guests. The Public Area Attendant / Facility Attendant contributes to creating a pleasant and safe environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning & Maintenance:
   • Perform regular cleaning tasks in public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and conference rooms.
   • Ensure that all areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies, including soap, paper towels, and sanitary products.
   • Address minor maintenance issues, such as replacing light bulbs, reporting plumbing problems, and managing any cosmetic repairs needed.
2. Guest Service:
   • Assist guests with any requests related to public area cleanliness or facility issues, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
   • Respond to guest complaints or concerns related to public areas in a professional and efficient manner.
3. Safety & Compliance:
   • Follow all safety and health regulations, including proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
   • Conduct routine safety checks of public areas, reporting any hazards or safety issues to the Facilities Manager or maintenance team.
   • Adhere to emergency protocols and procedures, including reporting incidents or accidents promptly.
4. Inventory & Supplies:
   • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are sufficient and ordering additional supplies as needed.
   • Keep records of inventory usage and report any discrepancies or supply needs to the Facilities Manager.
5. Facility Upkeep:
   • Assist with the setup and breakdown of facilities for events, including arranging furniture, setting up equipment, and ensuring that spaces are ready for use.
   • Perform regular inspections of public areas to identify areas needing attention or improvement, and report findings to management.
6. Coordination & Communication:
   • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager, housekeeping team, and other hotel departments to address any issues related to public areas.
   • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the maintenance and cleanliness of public areas.
7. Administrative Duties:
   • Complete and maintain logs and reports related to cleaning tasks, maintenance issues, and inventory.
   • Assist with administrative tasks related to facility management, including scheduling and record-keeping.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education:
   • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in facility maintenance or housekeeping is a plus.
2. Experience:
   • Previous experience in facility maintenance, custodial services, or a similar role is preferred.
   • Familiarity with cleaning and maintenance equipment and procedures.
3. Skills:
   • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
   • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent guest service.
   • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
   • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and climbing ladders.

• Indoor and outdoor environment, with exposure to varying conditions depending on facility maintenance needs.
• Collaborative atmosphere with interactions with guests and staff.
• Fast-paced environment requiring effective multitasking and attention to detail.
