Housekeeping Supervisor

The Promissory Hotel is searching for a detail-oriented and passionate individual to join our growing team as Housekeeping Supervisor! 

As a valued team member, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean and meet the hotel’s quality standards. This role involves supervising staff and coordinating with other departments at our soon-to-be-open destination boutique hotel with a vibrant restaurant/bar, Suerte, and live music hall, The Exchange.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Smile, have fun, and be energetic — You’ll be the heart of the housekeeping team!
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the housekeepers & laundry attendants. 
• Assign tasks, manage schedules, monitor performance, and conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates. 
• Provide training and support to the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness. 
• Encourage the team to reach their full potential through constructive feedback and support. 
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, laundry room, and other back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness. 
• Respond to guest requests and ensure the team is handling requests promptly and courteously.
• Monitor and manage inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies. 
• Order and restock supplies as needed to ensure proper storage. 
• Prepare and maintain reports related to housekeeping and laundry operations, including staff performance and room status. 
• Work closely with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction. 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures, and safety standards. 
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• A friendly and hospitable demeanor. 
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of the Roanoke region and the town's local attractions.
