JOB OVERVIEW: To assist the Director of Spa & Fitness Operations in providing leadership, direction and supervision of the staff in the daily operations of the spa (including but not limited to) retail, membership, salon, fitness programs. Responsible for ensuring the spa meets or exceeds guest service and Forbes standards.

REPORTS TO: Spa Director / Assistant Spa Director

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features, services, and hours of operation, all spa services and products, fitness programs, salon.
  2. Assist in the daily operations for the spa, booking appointments, inventory of professional products, etc.
  3. Assist in all aspects of the spa member fitness areas.
  4. Assist with all member and fitness billing, cancelations, changes and or cancelations.
  5. Assist in all fitness and Spa promotions to generate spa revenue.
  6. Assist with hiring staff, developing and inspiring team associates to include issuing coaching and corrective action.
  7. Assist with monthly forecasting and maintains guidelines of Spa budget while making optimal use of financial resources.
  8. Maximize net operating income and owner’s equity through sales generation and cost control procedures.
  9. Assists with ongoing training and compliance requirements.
  10. Continuous evaluation and improvement of the operations.
  11. May attend pre or post conference meetings and work closely with the catering department to accommodate group requests. Review group billing and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  12. Work with the housekeeping department in regards to the cleanliness of the facility maintaining high levels of cleanliness. Tracks spa maintenance work tickets and repairs.
  13. Ensures that service standards exceed guest expectations. Addresses guest and employee concerns constructively and effectively.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Four (4) or more years of experience working in a spa, fitness facility, country club or related facility.
  • A minimum of five (5) of experience supervising associates.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A Spa or Fitness Certification is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
