Banquet Captain Job Description

Location: Hotel Morgan, 127 High Street, Morgantown, WV, 26505

Job Summary

The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet events, including set-up, service, and breakdown. They will work closely with the Banquet Manager to ensure that all events are executed flawlessly and to the satisfaction of the guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and set-up crew
• Ensure that all banquet events are set up according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
• Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure that food is prepared and served on time
• Ensure that all guests are served in a timely and professional manner
• Handle any guest complaints or issues that arise during the event
• Ensure that all banquet areas are clean and presentable at all times
• Assist with inventory and ordering of banquet supplies
• Train new banquet staff as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager

Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of food and beverage service
• Ability to work well in a team environment
