Front Office Host– The Clayfield, part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt
Compensation: $21.50 per hour plus commission, Full-Time

The Clayfield is a new 102-room luxury boutique hotel opening in Niagara-on-the-Lake and part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Operated by Urgo Hotels & Resorts Canada, The Clayfield will deliver a highly personalized, refined guest experience grounded in calm luxury, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of place.

As a Front Office Host, you will create thoughtful and personalized guest experiences from arrival to departure. Reporting to Front Office Management, you will serve as a welcoming presence throughout the hotel, combining front office operations, concierge-style service, and guest engagement to deliver memorable stays that reflect the character and spirit of our property.

What You’ll Do

  • Warmly welcome guests, using their name whenever possible, and create a seamless arrival and departure experience
  • Escort guests to their rooms while providing orientation to the hotel, amenities, and services
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with genuine interest, empathy, and professionalism—ensuring each guest feels heard, supported, and valued.
  • Manage room reservations and booking modifications accurately, confirming all details and offering proactive solutions to enhance the guest experience
  • Coordinate and work with vendors to arrange transportation services, dining reservations, tickets for events, excursion/tour arrangements, and any additional guest needs with efficiency and care.
  • Support guests with special requests including weddings, retreats, and private events, working closely with relevant departments to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Process payments, room charges, and provide a clear, courteous check-out experience, including presenting the final bill.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and welcoming front desk environment at all times.
  • Anticipate guest needs before being asked and follow up with thoughtful touches that go above and beyond expectations.
  • Demonstrate consistent positive body language and a warm, professional demeanor throughout every interaction.
  • Close each interaction with sincerity, leaving a lasting impression of genuine care and hospitality.
  • Uphold brand standards while delivering authentic and individualized hospitality experiences
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • A service-focused personality with a natural ability to connect with others.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask with grace while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or tourism is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Niagara-on-the-Lake, local wineries, restaurants, and attractions is an asset
  • Experience with hotel systems (e.g., Opera Cloud) is an asset.
  • Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and solution-oriented under pressure
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the team wherever needed
