Job Description: Restaurant Door Guest Greeter

Position Summary

The Restaurant Door Guest Greeter is responsible for providing a welcoming and professional first impression to all guests entering the restaurant. This position supports front-of-house operations by greeting guests, managing waitlists and seating flow, communicating with team members, and maintaining a positive guest experience in accordance with company standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Welcome guests in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner upon arrival.
• Assist with guest seating coordination and waitlist management.
• Communicate estimated wait times accurately and professionally.
• Escort guests to designated seating areas when applicable.
• Maintain awareness of dining room capacity and table availability.
• Answer basic guest questions regarding menu offerings, restaurant policies, and wait times.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the entrance, lobby, and waiting areas.
• Communicate effectively with managers, servers, and other team members regarding seating flow and guest needs.
• Monitor entryways to promote a safe and orderly environment.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism during high-volume periods.
• Follow all company policies, safety standards, and health regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain professional and courteous in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment with moderate noise levels.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in the front entrance and dining areas of the restaurant and may involve exposure to crowded conditions, varying temperatures, and frequent guest interaction.
