About the Role:

The Associate Director, Development & Acquisitions will be an integral member of the Magna Capital Management team focused on the creation of value through the acquisition, development, and sale of hotel assets.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience on the hotel investment side of the business with a proven track record of execution. This individual will be team oriented and effective at deal sourcing, networking, and structuring real estate transactions. You must be able to develop strong relationships within multiple facets of the industry including owners, lenders, brokers, and investors in addition to efficiently and professionally execute deals from sourcing through closing.

This role will require you to be in our Warwick, RI, corporate office daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate deal flow through both brokered and off-market sources.
  • Maintain and develop a strong network of contacts throughout the hospitality industry.
  • Lead negotiations of transaction related agreements including purchase and sale, loan documents, franchise agreements, leases etc.
  • Build internal consensus and present opportunities to the internal investment committee.
  • Work with the operations team to solicit input for underwriting and ongoing asset management including Revenue Management, Operations, Sales & Marketing, HR, and Finance.
  • Drafting, negotiating, executing, and implementing the Purchase and Sale agreement and other transaction documents including leases, contracts, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of portfolio operating performance.

Requirements:

The candidate must be an experienced and proven individual who possesses:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in hospitality acquisitions.
  • Intimate knowledge of the deal process from start to finish.
  • Ability to complete their own underwriting, work with models, and recommend pricing to the investment team.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operating performance, market research, and supply and demand dynamics
  • Solid business acumen with excellent analytical and financial skills.
  • Highly entrepreneurial; ability to demonstrate resilience in taking initiative to grow the business.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop inventive solutions to problems, while also
  • knowing when to follow defined processes.
  • Technologically savvy and resourceful.
  • High attention to detail and focus on getting the job done.
