Engineer (Hotel Maintenance Technician)

Schedule: Rotating shifts including some weekends/holidays

Overview
The Engineer ensures the property’s mechanical systems, equipment, and overall physical condition remain fully operational. This hands-on role supports daily maintenance, emergency repairs, and guest satisfaction by keeping the hotel safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

• Respond to guestroom maintenance issues quickly and professionally

• Perform daily property walk-throughs and document facility conditions

• Assist with preventive maintenance program execution

• Log all work in hotels tacking system 

• Communicate with Front Desk on a regular basis regarding room status, work orders, etc.

• Support pool/spa operations (if applicable) including water chemistry testing

• Maintain communication with leadership regarding major repairs or outages

• Monitor fire life safety systems and ensure compliance with safety protocols

• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hotel, commercial, or residential maintenance experience

• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

• Strong troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and remain calm in urgent situations

• Comfortable using tech-based work order systems (GXP, HotSOS, etc.)
