Overview

Residence Inn Raleigh-Cary is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead the opening team of Cary’s newest Marriott property. The AGM supports the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining brand standards, and fostering a positive service-driven culture. This leadership role is perfect for a hands-on operator with strong communication skills, proven team development ability, and a passion for hospitality.


ResponsibilitiesOperations & Team Leadership
  • Support the GM in overseeing Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, F&B, and Engineering operations

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing associates

  • Lead by example to reinforce RevPAR Companies’ culture and service vision

  • Maintain department communication, coaching, and performance accountability

  • Serve as Manager-On-Duty during designated shifts

Guest Experience & Brand Standards
  • Monitor Guest Voice scores, Medallia feedback, and online reviews

  • Ensure prompt service recovery and follow-through on all guest concerns

  • Uphold Marriott brand standards across all departments

  • Maintain a strong presence in the lobby for guest engagement and morale

Financial & Administrative Support
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning

  • Support labor management, scheduling, and payroll accuracy

  • Review daily reports, STR performance, and revenue-driving opportunities

  • Help manage purchasing, inventory systems, and cost controls

Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, fire life safety, emergency procedures, and brand compliance

  • Conduct routine inspections of guest areas and back-of-house spaces

  • Support internal audits, risk management procedures, and quality assurance


Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of hotel leadership experience (GSM, Supervisor, Operations Manager, or similar)

  • Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership abilities

  • Knowledge of select-service hotel operations; Marriott experience preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure

  • Strong understanding of financial reports, labor management, and service metrics

  • Passion for people, guest experience, and operational excellence
